WHY WOULD ANYONE
WEAR THIS FUR?
In two weeks Canada's annual seal hunt is set to begin at the end of this month. An estimated 300,000 baby seals will be shot and bludgeoned to death for their fur by fishermen. They often skin them alive.
Canada's new Prime Minister is Stephen Harper. He should know how you feel abut this horrible and unnecessary slaughter.

Paul McCartney is calling for an end to the barbaric killing.
Remember, you can let it be known that you are boycotting Canada seafood and products until this is stopped. It's easy - they are not the only place to purchase and anything they may offer can be found elsewhere.

NOTE: There ARE alternative solutions to their claimed reasons for the hunt. It is the governments responsibility to work with their citizens and provide a better means.
Question:
Is it inhumane to cut the vocal cords of dogs?
Answer:
..Isn’t barking the natural way that dogs communicate?
..Isn’t that the way dogs are physically?
..Would it be inhumane to cut the vocal cords of a human baby because he or she cries?
..Would you like to have your vocal cords cut so that you were rendered silent and no longer able to communicate?
..Is that a rational solution to a dog who barks at a time that is not convenient for people or because the dog has a problem caused by people?
..Isn’t it the responsibility of those who are responsible, i.e. owner of the dog, to take care of what is causing excessive barking without resorting to mutilation?
..Why is mutilating a healthy animal a solution to poor guardianship of an animal or to sooth the ears of others who do not like the sound?
Comment: When people are allowed to abuse, torture, mutilate and murder another species for “convenience” then what is next? Or, maybe this will appeal to those who do not see the need for humane treatment of animals – who is next? It seems that only when it starts happening to people that abuse matters. That is the point of answering this question. The question is immature because the debate is not from a rational standpoint. If the only solution to a perceived problem is to mutilate a healthy entity that is already dependant on humans for its survival then what are we as human beings?
By the way – dogs have been mutilated in this way for many years in research laboratories so that the people working their and those who torture them in the name of science will have a more quiet atmosphere.
And so, would you like to know that your children had their vocal cords cut out so that they could not call for help or so that they could be tortured and not be able to even scream?
The answer is so very simple – yes, it is not just inhumane, but it is perverse and violent and is in no way a solution to ANYTHING.
Suggestion: Rethink the issue AROUND a barking dog. Why does the dog bark? Who is responsible? Who takes action to see that the dog is cared for properly.
An innocent, dependant animal is no more responsible for any ill will or difficulty than an infant human. There is only one solution – people need to be responsible.

For anyone concerned, this is a link to the video of the savage behavior of US soldiers in Iraq toward a suffering dog. This should not be swept under the rug and those holding offices should asked to take action.

What You Can Do to Help End Animal Abuse
Stop purchasing from companies that experiment on animals. Many companies no longer do that. I have a list posted here and PETA maintains a current list. An example is Proctor and Gamble so their products such as Bounty and Tide can be easily avoided. Who wants those chemicals in or on them anyway?
Purchase from companies that do not experiment on animals. Even cosmetic companies make the effort to let you know if they do not and you can always ask.
Support animals groups if only $5 a year – it adds up!
Stop watching movies and television shows that show animal abuse. There is a new series called The Reaper that appeals to a young audience. In their premier episode a teen opened his car door to hit a dog in the face and the sound of an animal screaming was heard. It sanctions such behavior and children will mimic it. Such a network, the program producers, and those who elect to appear in the show are all guilty of perpetrating the continuation of animal abuse and even going further by making it socially acceptable in the form of a joke. Being hit in the face with a car door is not amusing or acceptable.
Don’t have to buy from their sponsors. If you have an interest you can go on line to the network and leave them a message. They do read and listen.
Avoid movies made where animals are harmed. Entertainment is optional and nothing is entertaining about maiming and killing animals. Some producers like to film in countries where there are no humane animal laws. There is a link on the left of this page to the officially approved group that is allowed on sets to monitor film production that involves animals. If you find other quality sites to offer lists please send them in. The Screen Actors Guild can also be contacted as well.
Prayer works. Experiments have revealed that there is a real and significant effect from prayer.

REFUSE to allow others in your presence that diminishes the seriousness of animal abuse. Your personal space can be sacred.
SIGN petitions which are readily found online and some give the option of remaining anonymous so you don’t even have to sign your name
ESTABLISH A SACRED PLACE in your home or yard or wherever that if only one square foot is declared a safe zone or cruelty free area in the world. My lawn and my home and my car and wherever I go such a place.
Remember that not wanting pets or not being interested in them isn’t a crime. However, those who will not make any effort at all on any level are aiding the criminals and the mentally sick to continue. Those who say they are not involved are totally in denial since quantum physics has already proven we are all connected and all actions affects everything. Doing nothing is a choice to do a number of things as:
Choosing to allow criminals to continue to be brutalize
Choosing to allow the mentally ill to suffer
Choosing to allow animals to continue to be tortured, maimed and killed
Choosing to help criminals, insanity, ignorance, cruelty and the devolution of society
Choosing to allow children to never learn how to be humane and productive members of society
Yes, those who do nothing are actually doing a lot. They are dead weight on the planet and are part of the problem.
When it takes only a minute to go to a petition site and sign on behalf of humanity then how much more selfish can one be to choose not to?
