Antique roses are the ancestors of the roses seen today.
They are hardy and unique in color and shape.

I purchased my first antique rose named, LOUIS PHILLIPE, that was brought to the US in the early 1800's.

I purchased my Louis Phillipe here in Florida (where it is also known as the Cracker Rose) and planted it during the appropriate Lunar cycle.
It is very beautiful and a history will be posted soon.
Check out this great link! I am happy to know about this site and am already using so much of what they have to offer.....

CARING FOR YOUR ROSES AND OTHER PLANT LIFE
LUNAR GARDENING

Planting by the Moon is an ancient practice and has not changed in all these thousands of years. As needs are expressed I’ll add more. In the meantime, enjoy the planting and growing and let me know how your roses turn out. If you are using the lunar cycles it would be great to see the photos! I’ve seen some big and wild veggies that were the result of lunar gardening.

The gardening calendar is unavailable at this time.
Hopefully, it will be back soon.

Antique roses are truly antique! They are thousands of years old. A real antique rose is not a modern version, but from the originals that date back to ancient civilizations. They are hardy and aromatic and are in many varieties.
Always changing and now beginning to take shape, this page is being seeded and pruned. Slowed by the hurricanes. Check back and send your rose news and ideas. We  welcome articles. 2006 will be a great year!
